COMMISSION DES DROITS DE LA PERSONNE ET DES DROITS DE LA JEUNESSE
In Quebec the rights of children and adolescents are protected, like adults, by the Charte des droits et libertés de la personne (The Quebec charter of Rights and Freedoms of the Person). However, other laws protect specifically children who have been reported to or are under the care of the Directeur de la protection de la jeunesse (DPJ) (Director of Youth Protection DYP). The commission’s mandate is to oversee the protection of these youth.
